This was a presentation of a weather instrument by Jack Hockridge (owner of New England Weather Associates) to Emil Tavelli for winning an annual "weather contest" that was held by the "North Berkshire Weatherwatchers", a weather club organized for local weather enthusiasts by New England Weather Associates. Emil was a member of the club, and won the contest for giving the closest guess for the date of the first snowfall of the year.
