American Legion Drive {old state street} Posted: 05/05/2001 Comments... Anyone know what the building is across from the fire station? Where the Holiday Inn is now located. I think that was Farinons Bar which was near the Richmond Hotel back in the 40s.What you see there now is the building after the Richmond came down Posted: 12/14/2003 Comments... The name of the Bar was the Venice Grill. Posted: 10/22/2004 Comments... For years, Pot Garello and his father had a small diner where the police station now stands, at the corner of State and Summer...great Italian food and donuts. Heading north on State Street, there were all sorts of interesting places including a chinese laundry, the old firestation, Armstongs Bar. State Street could almost compare to Bank Street for it's interesting buildings and people...just part of old North Adams! Posted: 07/05/2008 |
