Kemp Park! I recall when the local ball teams,(Gordy Bissailion, Ray Bordon etc) played there. There was plenty of action during the 30's and 40's./ No matter when one passed the area there was always someone playing hard ball or softball. All us kids in the area spent many hours there. I believe just to the right of the area there was sort of a half-way house run by Dr. Vrooman, I believe that was the name. Many passed through his portals for the better. Tjhe whole area was alive with action of sorts. Tjhe fields around were great for berry picking, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries etc. My mother canned many a jelly, preserve and jam from our efforts. What a great neighborhood it was.
